Treat yourself to a four-day hiking break on the Wilderness Trail
Spend the first night in the idyllic village of Einruhr. Use the hiking rest stop at the national park information point to recover from your hike by the crackling open fire or enjoy a refreshing dip in the cool spring water. On the second stage, marvel at the Urftsee dam, the oldest and largest dam in the region. You then have the opportunity to discover the history of the historic Vogelsang complex. The third stage takes you through the Kermeter forest area with the largest beech population in the national park. Take a break at the Mariawald Trappist monastery and sample the famous pea soup so that you can tackle the last few meters with renewed strength. The fourth stage leads through the gnarled oak forest of Hetzingen to the Zerkall National Park information point. From there, you can take the comfortable Rurtalbahn to Heimbach. On request, the Trail Express will be waiting in Heimbach to take you back to the starting point in Monschau-Höfen.
